Series of talks for Graduates and Students
Online
Our Captains of Industry Talks is a series of online Talks where graduates and students will hear from a range of inspirational industry leaders. They are an opportunity to hear first-hand from experts in their field regarding their career journey and lessons learned, as well as their thoughts on the impacts of COVID-19 on their sector, now and in the future.
Next in our series is British fashion designer and GCU honorary professor, Christopher Raeburn on Thursday 22nd October at 4.15pm (UK time). After graduating from London’s Royal College of Art in 2006, Christopher began his career as a freelance pattern cutter before setting up his own studio in 2008 and later his own label, Raeburn. Established with responsible and intelligent fashion design for a global audience at its core Christopher is known for his ethical integrity. The RÆMADE ethos has pioneered the reworking of surplus fabrics and garments to create distinctive and functional pieces. Christopher will talk through his career journey, sharing insights and advice he has learned along the way, as well as discussing the impact of COVID-19 within the fashion sector and what challenges and opportunities he sees happening in the short and long term as a result.
The Talk will be followed by a Q&A. You can submit your question(s) in advance or via the raise hand / chat functionality on the day.
Details on how to join this live event will be sent to those registered 48 hours prior to the event starting.
